Mona Lisa
Mona Lisa is one of the world's most famous paintings. She was painted by the famous Italian artist, Leonardo da Vinci, between 1503 and 1506, during the High Renaissance art period. The subject is believed to have been Lisa Gherardini, the wife of a wealthy silk merchant, Francesco del Giocondo. The half-length portrait is the most parodied art in the world. It was stolen from The Louvre in France in 1911, stolen by an Italian patriot who believed it should be kept in Italy.
